You can't. RMAN requires a *local* drive. It can backup to a remote tapedrive as far as a program like Legato is running on that remote system.
You could easily verify that in the discussion on channels in the RMAN documentation.
You can also safely assum that, if it is not documented there, it doesn't exist.
