Not having a clue how you "migrated" I can only guess. And here's that guess.

Your data contained carriage returns.

Microsoft products are notorious for turning carriage returns into separate records during an export.

What you are seeing is the string from the Access memo field prior to the first carriage return.

Can you confirm this? And if this isn't the case we need to know a lot more about how you are stepping through moving the data. Tools, methodology, versions, etc.
