Oracle 8 and XML

I need to translate query outputs into XML using Oracle (the lowest version as possible; I use 7.3.4, 8.1.7 and 9.2: it would be fine if I could do it also with 7.3.4). Here:

...I read about XSU and XMLGEN packages available on 8.1.7, but the
only thing I found on the Oracle website is this:

...which seems to be suitable for 9.2 only.

Can someone give me some further information and one, only one working example in PL/SQL?
