d2k 6i installation problems on Pentium 4

but am not able to do the same on p4 machine 256 mb of ram with windows XP professional.

i tried copying the sources from the CD to the hard disk and tried to change the file name also "symcjit.dll" but it gives a error on the orainst.exe file saying it has unhandled exception.

what might be the problem?
