[Quoted] This is a new project. No database operations can be performed anywhere in the block - you get this message every time. The form has no LOVs or Record Groups as yet. It's not as though we've just started developing using Forms (v2.3, v3, v4.5, v6 and 13 years later!).

I'll do a code labotomy on Monday and see what happens - bizarrely 're-creating' the form by transplanting all the objects and properties from the original has resolved a similar peculiarity in the past (in v6 also, v4.5 seemed more sane!).
