No. UM requires telephony server and the API >was< Windows-only. I wasn't interested in UM anyway. Files/Email/Messaging/Chat were good enough for me.

Remember the license for Collab Suite allows you to have several machines serving the users (no limit on machines according to my license) and there is no restrction on mixing OSs. If I had wanted to put in UM, I'd have add a Windows machine to the mix.

BTW: I haven't upgraded to the most recent release of Collab Suite - that should happen in December.

You probably will not (yet). I was talking about Infrastructure and App Server. I understand Collab Suite was recently certified under UL so there should be notes coming soon.

Roughly same as my test box (I use Athalon 2500+s). Other than being slightly light on memory (IMHO) this should work.

It means

  1. UM has a different set of binaries that are incompatible with the database, the infrastructure and the app server (each of which should have their own Oracle Home), and
  2. Unless things have changed, UM doesn't go on Linux, and (possibly)
  3. You are not familiar enough with the docco to understand the purpose of Oracle Home (with due apologies if I read that incorrectly)

Last time I looked, Metalink had some reasonable hints on installing UM. You may also want to look there for certification matrix.
