Query Xml Stream and Parsing

HI,
I have a table with a field that contain XML stream. I have a query on the database to get a set of values of that field The client program have to parse each xml stream and find a specific value of an XML element ...
I want to know if it is possible to implement an "add in" to Oracle Server that parse the xml results of the query
and send to the client the results of the hole procedure as a recordset or a set of values.
