You are doing something terribly wrong. You are not reading the installation instructions. Therefore your efforts are doomed to failure. Not to mention you are installing obsolete unsupported software on an operating system for which they likely weren't certified.

  1. Get yourself the CDs at least up to 8.1.7.4 and 6i
  2. Read the installation instructions for both (they are on the CD)
  3. Install Developer (Forms and Reports) first
  4. Install the database second

But the simple answer to your question is that you just enter a different HOME name and directory. And if you do I'll bet a latte' it won't work after installation because of the items referenced above.
