How do I create ' right angle ' lines when creating relationships in Designer?

Can anyone help?
Designers default seems to be to create straight lines between entity points, diagonally if at an offset.
How do I create lines which seperate into two lines by a right angle? I can do this with two clicks, but the lines aren't straight like they are when you hit the autoformat button.
