Hi,

Another anomaly in using EM's events has come to my attention while evaluating the product.

The situation here is this:

EM Console and Management Server (version 2.2.0.0.0) is on the same box, NT4 on Intel hardware.
Intelligent Agent is 8.1.7 running on AIX 4.3.3 on an RS6000 SP node.

I've got an event registered which checks for the listener being up. This runs every 5 minutes. I'm getting quite a few false alarms from this event (usually several times a day) - i.e. it alerts me that the listener has gone down when it hasn't. Is this common behaviour in EM 2.2? I've looked at the .tcl script on the database server to try and see how it is determining that the listener is up, but I don't know TCL at all and it's not clear to me what's going on in that script!

Any opinions from those with experience of EM would be very gratefully received.
