Modifying DTDs using XDK's Java DOM parser

I want to use the Java classes of Oracle's XDK to parse an XML DTD, modify it and write it back to the file.
The class oracle.xml.parser.v2.DTD, I'm using, has no methods to modify the element definitions, neither does the class ElementDecl. So what is the correct way of DTD manipulations?
