[Quoted] The thing about MSDE is that, with the proper purchase/license, you can also [Quoted] distribute MSDE with commercial applications. If the app needs to be "upsized" to SQL Server, then my clients can import the MSDE databases directly into SQL Server.

I was hoping to be able to do the same thing with Oracle. If not distribute [Quoted] the "desktop" version, then certainly be able to use it to "develop" a commercial app and then allow the clients to use their licensed copy of Oracle to run the app.

Does this still seem possible? I went onto the Oracle site and downloaded 9i, but I haven't installed it yet because I don't know exactly what "version" I have -- the website is not quite as "clear" as I would have imagined. The last time I got some "mobile" version or something like that according the Oracle rep I talked with.

Anyway, I'm still somewhat confused about what Oracle has available for developers...

Power corrupts, and absolute power is actually pretty neat...
