[Quoted] To all kind souls:

[Quoted]     I already realize that this is a plea that is likely to anger several of [Quoted] the posters here, but you can rest assured that it is only due to a case of [Quoted] extreme desperation that I even would ask such a thing.

I am not a db administrator. I am not an oracle genius. I am not a hacker, [Quoted] as you will soon see. I am a research assistant in the youth of his career [Quoted] who has committed an error of such magnitude that said career might soon be [Quoted] finished for good. The only way to salvage any of it would be to alter, undetected, several fields in an Oracle 8i database. The problem is that I [Quoted] have no insert or update privileges on this db, only select. (indeed, that is all I would have needed had I paid slightly more attention to detail). Therefore, my plea to the community is for any assistance in modifying this [Quoted] db using only the tools available to me (which consist of little more than Discoverer). I am familiar with most topics and can quickly learn advanced [Quoted] concepts so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, even if they may seem over my head.

If you prefer, replies can be sent directly by email:

Thank you for your time, I am at your mercy.

IAC p.s. I am aware of the angry, and righteous responses this will generate. I [Quoted] suppose I deserve them, so don't hold back
