Cancel long running Queries in OCI

Hello

I'm trying to cancel a long running query in OCI. I have tried the OCIBreak call with no luck. The mode in Blocking, and the platform is Windows NT 4.0 SP6 running VC++ 6.0 SP5, and I'm using Oracle 8.1.7 client software. Is there something that I could be missing, the documentation says that the OCIBreak will stop a long running query, and that OCIReset only needs to be called in Non-Blocking mode.

What am I missing??
