Workflow is a quite handy tool for mapping / automating a business process and making it dependent on your (already existing) application. When a worklow process is running you get a good insight through the workflow monitor of what the status is of your workflow attributes.

In general the version I worked with (2.5) made a very good impression on me! If you have some knowledge of business processing and pl/sql you'll do fine.
