Designer6i R4.1.1 - does it install cleanly over previous versions?

Hi,
We're currently running Designer6iR2. I've just downloaded R4.1.1.
I've 'heard' a couple of people say that the install has a tendency to GPF if upgrading a previous version?
Has anyone performed the upgrade? How did it go?
