Re: Beginner question: how to launch listener?

Go to DOS. Go to the Oracle bin directory .... likely c:\oracle\ora81\bin

type the following:

LSNRCTL START to see if it started wait a few seconds and type

LSNRCTL STATUS it should show that it has been up for some number of seconds.
