I do not know of a simple method to design a sql-loader control file from a copybook. However,if the Cobol record consists of 14000 bytes, isn't it time to redesign the data into several related database tables. Why dump such an ugly record into a database without some normalizing? Of course there is always more to every story. Good luck.
