Printing a file in forms 6. URGENT

I have an application written in Forms6 which requires rapid productions and printing of files (actually receipts), this has been working fine in Win95/98 by using utl_file to generate the files, the win_api.copy_file to copy them to the appropriate port ie. LPT1:,COM1:,\\pc\laser.
However this won't work consistently in NT or Win2000.
Has anybody used the windows API routines to print in forms, or have any other suggestions.
Any help would be appreciated.
