Hi,

[Quoted] First, forgive my bad english!

[Quoted] I am following a db course at school and we can, if we want to, work at home and connect remotely to the school database.

I installed Oracle clients 8.1.7 and setup a local name for the school db. This part is ok, the test succeeds. Also, they want us to use TOAD, I don't know exactly why for now, as I'm still low on the learning curve. But I can create tables and work with them.

There is one document our teacher gave us which is titled Intro to designer. This introduction uses Designer 2000. I downloaded Designer 6i from Oracle web page and installed it.

The problem is when I try to connect I get this error message: You are attempting to connect to a previous release of the repository. And the action I should take is: Choose a different repository user to connect to.

My questions are: How do I do that? Is it possible to use Designer 6i if what is at school is Designer 2000?

I looked at oracle web site to download Designer 2000 but cannot find it anywhere.

I could ask my teacher but he won't be available until tuesday and I'd like to do that introduction.

Many thanks in advance.
