CORBA and OTL (Oracle Template Library)

I'm wondering if someone could offer me some help and/or guidance? I work in a group that does online reference titles with user authentication. The titles are available via Sun web servers, they authenticate users by posting an HTTP CGI request to another machine that has the authentication database. I'm investigating using CORBA to provide more direct access to the authentication database to the client web server machines. Right now we are using OTL for local database access. What I'd like to do is implement CORBA to more directly connect the client machines with the OTL functions on the authentication server. Has anyone tried integrating CORBA and OTL? I'm a little familiar with TAO+ACE CORBA, but I'm open to suggestions and recommendations.
