ODBC? Documentation? Harsh words? VBA?
[Quoted] What's it all about? Politics?

Shouldn't it rather be easier to establish some simple rules?

The person asking for help:
1. should state in a simple way how deep his knowledge of Oracle is (so anybody may answer according to the asker's level). 2. should mention versions, platforms and other important technical information

The person answering:
1. is showing his good will to offer free time and obviously thinks that his knowledge is deeper. He should be honored for his attitude. 2. should NOT presumptuous or arrogant (for he started out some time ago as an ignorant and insignificant person). 3. should provide information only if it will help the person asking

Both
1. know that reading documentation is tedious process (if everybody would read all documentation available, why do we need newsgroups?) 2. know that instead of reading documentation one may participate in a newsgroup

Life can be so easy.

Carsten
