Importing 8.1.7 dump file to 8.1.6 database

Hi,
I recently installed Personal Oracle 8.1.7 to my new laptop running Win2K Pro.
I found that while I try to import .dmp files EXPorted from the Personal Oracle to my 8.1.6 database running on SuSE Linux, I always got header and language (character set error). However, the reverse is OK.
Can someone enlight me what I should do?
