David,

About 2 years ago I did something similar. We went from Oracle 7.3.3.6 and Forms 3.0 on OpenVms to Oracle 7.3.4 on VMS and Developer 6 on a Sun Solaris. In our forms we had a lot of HOST() command's for calling com-file which were run in the batch. I converted the com-file to shell scripts and they run on the Sun. The shell-scripts run as crontabs. If you want more details I can send you a document explaining how I did it.

kind regards,

Ivan
