I can't answer the question you asked. But I can ask a question that I think most people in this usenet group would find far more useful if answered.

What is happening on the Oracle server? Any error message? Any queries hanging? What kind of traffic is being routed to the server that Oracle is handling?

We are primarily Oracle DBAs and developers ... net network admins or UNIX SAs.
