End-user reporting tools

Hi, I am a fan of Discoverer but need a tool that will work, today, over the internet & through firewalls that isnt a windows client program.
The backend database is Oracle8 with Oracle Web App Server 3.0.2 on a Solaris 2.6 o/s on SPARC.
What recommendations/experiences do you have?
I have installed and got running Discoverer 3i but it appears not to work through firewalls.
