set up an ordinary tcp/ip servicename (so host= etc in tnsnames.ora)
using localhost as host name.
In the hosts file (c:\windows\hosts for win95/98 and
c:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\hosts on win nt(
you have to enter the line
127.0.0.1 localhost
This works for me.
