Forms 6i and Pro*C/C++ Versioning Question

[Quoted] We are creating Windows DLLs w/database connectivity precompiled with Pro*C/C++ 8.0.3. We are using FFI not user exits (um ... I think ... Oracle [Quoted] has REALLY confused me on this one). We were told that we MUST use Pro*C/C++ [Quoted] 8.0.6 and that we cannot use a later version. Can anyine help clear this up for me?
