Floating point overflow in ExtProc

Does anyone know how to catch a floating point error in ExtProc that is caused by a C DLL that I am calling as an external procedure from PL/SQL? My problem is that the agent that runs the C DLL external procedure (ExtProc) crashes with a floating point overflow error and requires OK/Cancel to be pressed before an Oracle error is generated. Can I stop ExtProc from crashing?
