Dreaded ORA-4062 problems

[Quoted] We're using Forms 6 against Oracle 8i. We ship our compiled FMXs and PLXs to our clients who are also using 8i. Periodically, we have the problem that "something" happens and then users get ORA-4062's when opening our app. Oracle's hare-brained response is "set init.ora parameter REMOTE_DEPENDENCIES_MODE = signature". Well, we've done that ages ago yet our problem pops up from time to time.

Has anyone solved this one?
