Installation of Discoverer

I'm trying to install a Oracle Discoverer 3i User Edition on a single machine. There I have already installed ORACLE Server 8.1.6. Since I'm not allowed to use the already existing OraHome81 for the Discoverer, I created a new Home called OraDisc. After a few steps in the installation process I get an error message, which says that I have to use OraHome81 as the Home Directory. What a concept!
Are there any ways to solve that problem?
