Japanese Character in JDeveloper

Hi All,
I'm trying to have an application that supports Japanese Characters, is it possible to do this in JDeveloper ? I tried to create a small program that will show a kanji character, but when i compiled it.. it show box characters (garbage).
I read the documentation and it said that I need to change something in font.properties file, but i don't understand it...
could anyone help me ?
