When you say 'datafiles' do you mean a set of actual Oracle database files ? If so, minor details of the internal data formats will almost certainly be incompatible with the formats expected by your home system (even the Mandrake 7.2 o/s version of Oracle). If you mean files generated by export then you can ignore the above.

To move the database from one o/s in the office to another o/s at home (!) you will need to create an empty database at home that copies the tablespace (and file) definitions of the office systems, then do go through an export/import cycle.
