Hello !

[Quoted]     I`ll try to clarify environment issues :

  1. Oracle environment As I said, I have run sqlplus from version Oracle7.3.3 in ORACLE 8 environment, it means that ORACLE_HOME and PATH both poins to ORACLE 8
ORACLE_SID is not set at all, because I believe client do not need it. (It takes all the info from connection string)

2 Oacle as Unix user

We do not have different login for Orale7 and Oracle8, I think it is irrelevant because I`m talkink about client

I`d done my expirements with my user login (not as oracle) - and I saw in truss output file that the shell and library search path is indeed Oracle8.

I `ve also seen that sqlpus from Oracle 8 uses libclintsh.so and libskgxp8.so libraries, but Oracle7/sqlplus - neither of them.

Regards, and thank you for reply.
