Graphics 2.5 - drilldown stops working once the master query has returned no data

Hi,
I have a master-detail drilldown set-up, where the parameters for the master can be altered using a text/button (changes the date parameters of the query)and a requery and refresh.
It is possible for the master detail to show no information due to the setting of the date parameters.
When this happens, the chart is blank - as expected. When the parameters are changed once more to a 'valid' value, the chart is redisplayed *BUT* I can no longer drilldown to the second chart!
What's happening and how can I stop it?
