Forms 4.5 edit text field fault

hello,
I'm using Oracle forms vers. 4.5.10.6.0 with an IBM F50 AIX server.
Within the developer i want to change some text fields on the form.
When selecting the text button and entering the text field appears to function normal. Except, changing the text field won't work.
For forms we had an Y2K patch, but maybe a previous patch isn't loaded. Which one is needed, or how can i solve this major problem?
Any suggestions are welcome!!
