For the last two years we have been
running a late Oracle 7 version on
a small network consisting of an
NT 4.0 server and five NT 4.0 clients.
We have a new server, a 500 MHz 256 MB
machine with a 30 GB hard drive.
[Quoted] That should hold us a few months,

We have all three of the 2000 tools --
Discover, Developer, and Designer
as well as the SQL package.
We have built our upper level
data base management courses around
Oracle, since I wanted our students
to work with a real DBMS.

The University of Pittsburgh has
licensed Oracle for lab use (like ours), but I'm not sure what to ask for.
I know PowerObjects is off the list,
but what do I need from 8i to have
the capababilities that we had in the 7+ software?

We have been holding at NT SP 3 based
on allegations that Oracle 7 didn't
cohabit well with any SP past 3.
We now have SP 6A available.

Thanks in advance
