Kushan,
When you say Multi-layout, I believe you are referring to Additional Default Layout in the the Layout View.
This feature is very useful. Multiple layouts
allows you to put multiple styles / types of data
on one report. For example, suppose you have an
invoice with Page 1 in one style, followed by
some tabular data in another style, followed
by a third type of data. You might opt for
three separate Default Layouts.
After using the Wizard for the first layout,
you cannot use the wizard to get the second
layout arranged... it still points to the first
layout. Using the Additional Default Layout
button will cause the wizard to leave the
first layout alone and create a second layout.
Another way the Additional Default Layout is useful is when you have a layout already, and wish to add a couple more fields to the layout. It is too much trouble to create the fields, then create the layout Items, along with boilerplate text, etc.etc...but if you choose the wizard to add more detail, you run the risk of destroying the work you have already done on the existing layout....Very simple: choose Additional Layout, and use the wizard to very quickly build the fields you want displayed. Then, in the layout editor, move the finished fields and text into your first layout, position them, and then merely delete the second layout frames... all very useful I have found.
Good Luck,
