How to kill active 8i session from W98 client, and have executing procedure continue on server???

Because I'm working on probably the oldest Unix box still in operation, some of my PL/SQL procedures take hours to run.

I'd like to be able to fire up a procedure within a user session (SQL*Plus or SQL Worksheet), and have it continue when the session is killed, via the Windows Close Program dialog.

Doing this would allow me to do work from home without tying up my phone line, while I wait for the procedure to end.

We have Win98 clients and Enterprise Manager, v8.0.5.

Yes, I believe the scripts are as efficient as can be. Because of retroactivity in the business, I need to do a full history compare in each warehouse table, each time the table is updated.
