Reports 2.5 and union all query problem

Hi folks,
I have a report where the query for the report uses a union all .
This works fine in the report. However when the second query
in the union all query returns a row the reports throws a blank line
immediately after. The query works fine in sqlplus, But I wonder
why I get the blank line its as if reports is making up for the first
part of the union all statement not returning a row. I thought that by
making
the query a view I could get rid of the problem but i dont really want to
do that. Any suggestions ? explanations ?
