Hi,

I'm new to oracle and I have a database running on an E4500 on solaris 7 and oracle 8.1.6. I have about 40 tables that have about 2 million rows each that users need to query from. I would like to have the users use a webpage to query out specific records instead of using the command line. I had DBD working for my informix databases but I couldn't get it to work with my oracle ones. I keep getting the response :

You must install a Solaris patch to run this version of the Java runtime.
Please see the README and release notes for more information. Exiting.
Abort

I have no clue what patch its talking about. Anyway, I know using DBD and DBI is one way of doing what I need to do. What others are there? Should my users connect to my database server? Or should I setup a client they connect to and then the client requests info from the server? Can anyone direct me to a website with examples? Thanks in advance...
