Reinder,

I'm not entirely sure about 2.2 as I have not worked with this version but I was able to install webdb ver 2.1 on a secondary machine. My implementation was as follows:

- Oracle 8.0.5 on Alpha NT 4.0 sp3
- Webdb 2.1 on Intel NT 4.0 sp4
- A functional NET8 link between the two machines.

The reason I placed webdb on a second machine was to ensure that resources used by webdb would not interfere with the resource allocations of the database server. Under this model (3 tier) the webdb schema is stored in 8.0.5 database while the listener is running on the Intel box. The alpha only had two processors and 512 megs of RAM while the Intel had 4 processors and 1Gig of RAM. A 100mb fibre channel between the two machines used to support the data transfer was adequate for my 75 users in the project.

You should still be able to perform this with the 2.2 version, though as mentioned, I have not attempted it. The 2.1 documentation did have reference to splitting the product over multiple machines for performance enhancement. If you are unable to find the docs, I could attempt to email them to you.
