Hello again,
I have fixed the problem myself. (I know, I should have waited before
posting).
The proble was being caused due to the Global retaining the A:\ as part of
the variable I used:
:GLOBAL.filename := SUBSTR(:GLOBAL.filename,4)
This gets rid opf the A:\
Once I did this the whole thing worked like a dream.
