Send terminate signal to Win N.T.

Dear all,
I have built an application using Oracle Developer/2000 and I want to run it as a shell in Windows N.T. so that when N.T. starts, it will automatically start my application. And when my application terminates, it will return to the N.T. logon prompt again. I heard from other people that the shell has to send termiate signal to the N.T. for doing so. Does anyone know how can I send this signal? Any special library is needed to do so?
