Hi Vish,

  You can also try to use ORADIM*.EXE do recreate   your services (ORACLEServicexxx and ORACLEStartxxx)   certifying that all parameters are right, specially   internal password and location of init.ora configuration   files.

  Its a common problem in NT.

  to get all valid parameters issue an "ORADIM73 help=y"   command in your DOS prompt and you'll have an detailed   list of avaliable parameters.

  If your problem is the internal password, try to set   the registry entry "REMOTE_LOGIN_PASSWORDFILE=SHARE" in   \\HKEY_LOCALMACHINE\Software\ORACLE\, and/or create   a password file ($ORACLE_HOME\DATABASE\PWD<instance>.ORA)   with ORAPWD*.EXE or ORADIM*.EXE.
