Matthew,

   If all items are display Forms runtime will start, display the items then close, you may very well never see it. What would make sense would be to change some (or all) of the items back to text items, and set their Database Query Only property to YES. You can also set the block and item level Insert Allowed and Updated Allowed properties to NO. This will allow you users to query the table, but not insert or update records.
