There are two things I would check out:
- Oracle 8.0.5.1 is not certified with OAS 4.0.8.1. You could try upgrading to 8.0.5.1. If nothing else, this would give you bargaining power when talking to Oracle support.
- SP 6.0 could be a bigger problem. Oracle has been known to have issues with "new" service packs. For example, OAS 4.0.7.0 wouldn't even start on SP 4.0 without a patch.
