I'm not positive, but I don't think Oracle 8i Lite goes through a listener. You have to use ODBC.
Try finding documenation here:
http://technet.oracle.com/docs/products/8i_lite/doc_index.htm (But you have to register for a "free" technet account if you don't already have one.)
