[Quoted] I have a Solaris box. I want to use Perl on this box to access a remote [Quoted] Oracle database. I already have Sqlplus working on the box and doing remote queries properly. The latest version of Perl and DBI is also installed there.

The next step appears to be installing Oracle's Pro*C (which is required [Quoted] before installing DBD:Oracle, which is needed to make DBI work). We will use gcc for this.

[Quoted] My admins can't seem to find Pro*C anywhere. Where is it? If they've lost the disk, is it downloadable? I've got technet access.

[Quoted] Are there any tricks for installing it? Apparently, Pro*C is needed by [Quoted] Perl only for some libraries and headers (but that's just a rumor to me).

[Quoted] Do I need to do anything special to get it working remotely, or is that included? Received on Tue Dec 07 1999 - 20:00:54 CET
