ER diagram and ddl management tools

Hi everyone,
Does anyone know of a good tool(s) that can be used to automatically create ER diagrams from ddl and to help manage different versions of ddls for different clients and different releases of software. (We currently implement the version control using SCCS but were hoping there was something better out there).
We've tried Oracle Designer but found it too limited when you have to manage different versions of ddl for each client and each release.
